Both men came from Canton Berne, Switzerland, and even named their children after each other. Ulrich settled in Pendleton in about 1753. Jacob Sr came to the area in 1763. Can anyone tell me what the relationship was between these two men? Brothers or cousins? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Summerfield and a Arena Black in 1906. Then there is a Wm. A. Summerfield marrying a Ella C. Fidler in 1920. According to the marriage certificate, he was 62. I haven't added the information yet because I haven't verified that this is the same William. But preliminary results look promising. http://dragonsrose0483.webs.com/hubbiesbranch.htm Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [WVPENDLE] Nelson Family
    2. I am needing info on the Nelson Families of Pendleton Co. There was an Adonijah Jordan that married, in 1870, to Amanda (Susan) Nelson, the daughter of Isaac and Susan (Porter) Nelson. I am looking for Isaac Nelson's parents, also looking for a Nola Nelson that married Willie Lambert. Nola was born at Hunting Grounds, Pendleton Co. If anyone could give me some history on these two families it would be greatly appreciated. My GGG Grandparents were Samuel K. and Susan (Harper) Nelson. They both died on North Mountain, Grant Co. Thanks in advance for any help, Vera (Ayers) Tinney

Author: marjisangels Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.westvirginia.counties.pendleton/1798.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The death cert #4132 for Peter Moyers does list Alice Huffman as his mother. However, it should be considered that the informant was the son of Peter, Francis Scott Moyers [listed as F.S.]who was born in 1861. With Peter living to be almost 100 and the mother born abt 1793 it is unlikely that Francis knew his grandmother. The last census record I found in which she is listed as Mary is in 1850. There is a large time gap with Peter living to be almost 100. Don't think this is "hard" proof that is helpful. I have seen many many discrepancies in so called primary sources. He was 3 months shy of 100 when he died, and info from a third party so could be in error, but has anyone else seen this name? Thanks!
