My GGGMother is Susan Catherine JUDY, d/o Adam JUDY and Mary KIMBLE. Susan married my GGGF, George William SLUSHER, on 7 Sep 1858 in Pendleton Co, VA. Two sons: my GGF Enoch (b 1860) and his brother, George (b 1863) were born in Pendleton Couty. George William SLUSHER was with both the south (drafted) and then the north (volunteered and joined in Moorefield, Hardy Co, VA) in he Civil War. In abt 1863, the family moved to Greene and then Clinton Co, Ohio, and added another 3 children to their clan. You connected to Mary KIMBLE, Adam JUDY or dau, Susan Catherine JUDY? Otis Slusher (in Florida) Hi Otis, I know in this tangled web we are definitely related! My GGGgrandfather James Markwood Kimble was a brother to Mary "Polly" Kimble. They also had another sister, Elizabeth who married Henry Judy who was my GGGGgrandfather on the Judy side. So my Judy & Kimble side definitely connects when you go back far enough.I suppose our Judy side connects through Martin Tschudi. Your ancestor is Henry & mine is Nicholas who were brothers, the sons of Martin, right? Karen

    3. Kim, Hi, I just read your introduction, and believe we may be related through the Dahmer family. My GGGG grandmother was a Margaret Rebecca Dahmer, the daughter of John George Dahmer and Elizabeth Hartman of Pendleton County, Virginia (WV). To my knowledge, there is only one Dahmer family of Pendleton County. John George Dahmer was the immigrant, and he was born in Baden, Germany on April 9, 1775. He married Elizabeth Hartman, the daughter of George Moritz Dahmer, about 1796. I once had a bio on John George Dahmer, but can't find it right now. It stated that he was a Reverend of the Christian faith, and that he was educated in several languages in his native Germany. Anyway, I believe that if you ever find the parents of your G Grandfather, Pinkey Dahmer, you will find that he was a grandson or great-grandson of John George Dahmer and Elizabeth Hartman. I'm going to try to gather up all my Dahmer material, so if you need anything else, just let me know. Your Dahmer "Cousins", THE VAN KIRK FAMILY >From: "Kimberly S. 2. Nedra Dickman Brill
    3. Elaine and all, Solomon George married Susanna BUGBEE on 21 April 1844, Pend Co. Reg of Marriages 1800, page 43. I have seen this spelling for other Buckbee marriages. Solomon George and Susanna BUCKLOO marriage bond dated 15 April 1844, bondsmen Solomon George and John BUCKLOO. [Mary Harter's Pendleton County, Virginia, Marriage Bonds 1791-1853 (1979), page 9.] Not sure this helps to confirm any particular last name! <G> You might want to trace Josiah Buckbee who appears in the 1850 Pend. Co. census, age 55, Dwelling #527. He has a wife 46 and children aged 20-5. However, his age certainly suggests that there may have been an earlier marriage with children. Neither he nor his sons appear in Pendleton County after this. His son Elijah is in 1880 Mineral County, Frankfort Dist., page 26. Sorry I could not be more helpful, but I only traced Josiah's family enough to untangle them from Jesse's. I hope this has helped a little. Maybe you can find some leads here. If you have something to help fill in my blank info, sure would appreciate it. And I'm always glad to meet another cousin. That's one reason I like "researching" my families. I don't get on here as often as I'd like. My husband has been in and out of the hospital a lot here lately. Sooo, I sneak in some time when 'er I can. ggg Helen HKFEST@prodigy.net
