I took note of the plans for a Mullenax reunion. I am searching for information on Samuel Mullenax who married Sarah Simmons. They had two children, Robert and Perlie. The only additional information I have is that Sarah was born in 1833, and I believe this came from census records. JOHNSON 9 Adam J JOHNSON 6 Charles W JOHNSON 3 The above family is the family of Adam JUDY and Mary KIMBLE. The 3 JOHNSON Children are the children of Robert R. JOHNSON and Mahala JUDY (deceased). The JOHNSON children are living in the hosehold of Adam JUDY and Mary KIMBLE. Thus, I beleve Mahala JUDY was a daughter of Adam JUDY and Mary KIMBLE. The above Susan C. JUDY is my GGGM, Susan Catherine JUDY, who married my GGGF, George William SLUSHER, on 7 Sep 1858 in Pendleton County. Per the 1882 Beers publication "HISTORY of Clinton County Ohio" pg 1082-1083, George William SLUSHER married Susan JUDY, the daughter of Adam and Mary KIMBLE JUDY and further states that the family moved to Green Co, OH, in abt 1865 and then to Cliton Co, in 1868. The family is in the 1870 Clinton Co, OH, census. In the 1880 census,, Mary (KIMBLE) JUDY, then "assumed" to be a widow, was living in my GGGF & GGGM's household in Clinton Co OH. Hi Otis, You are right about William being a Harper. I failed to put his whole name on my fam sheet. Sorry about that. :) William could have been a brother of Adam's wife, Mary Magdelena Harper. My referrences for Mahalia M. Judy who m. Robert Johnson came from his Granddaughter, Julia Thompson. Mahalia died before her Father made his will could be the reason she wasn't named in his will. (Adam's will in WB5 pg. 22-24 - Pdln. Co.) There could be 2 Williams. The Elizabeth in question mar. Wm. H. H. Ayers 18 Nov. 1845. I put ca (about) for I didn't know the exact date of the birth. 10 yrs. old to marry might be too young but 15, yes, that is possible back then. Then again, the ladies that sent me the data could be wrong and I'm at fault for not asking about referrences or sending for a mar. rec. myself. Elizabeth who m. Wm. H.H. Ayers, was in her Father's will but the will did not list her married name. BUT, Philip Phares, (who she m. 17 June 1858) was one of the Executors of Adam's will. In a deed (DB "E" pg. 83) - Randolph Co., dated 10 April 1871 the heirs sold land to John W. Mullenax and it lists Philip PHARES and wife Elizabeth of Rockingham Co.; I also received data from Elizabeth's Granddaughter, Lizzie Bible, as well as data from Julia Thompson as referrences of both of Elizabeth's marriages. Otis, the "Alt & Kimble Fam." book could be wrong. Did you send for any mar. record??? I didn't for it really isn't my direct line. Elizabeth is a sister to my Mary Catherine and I do have a copy of her mar. rec.. There's a period that they didn't record parents on the mar. records. But there's other things to check like a mar. bond, or old newspapers for a notice of the mar.. Or a Church record. Hi again Helen (& Joe) I have the children of Adam and Mary (HINKLE) JUDY the same as Helen except no Mahala as a daughter and a different Elizabeth JUDY (not the one who married William AYERS) as their daughter Before I get into Mahala, the William (age 21 - b ca 1829) in their houseold (#350) in the 1850 Pedleton census has a last name of HARPER and is shown as a "laborer". I have no reason to believe a Willam "HARPER" would be a son of theirs. As I set in an earlier posting, the 3 JOHNSON childen of Mahala JUDY and Robert R. JOHNSON (Rebecca, Adam Charles) were living in the 1850 Penndleton Co, household (#270) of Adam and Mary (KIMBLE) JUDY along with their 9 y/o dau, (my GGGM>) Susan C, JUDY. I beleive Mahala is as daughter of theirs. I am sure that the Elizabeth JUDY who m William AYERS was the d/o Adam and Mary (KIMBLE) JUDY as well. I have found information from the book "ALT & KIMBLE Families" which show the 3 daus of Adam and Mary (KIMBLE) JUDY as Mahala JUDY (m JOHNSON in 1839) Elizabeth JUDY (m Wm AYERS in 1845) and (my GGGM>) Susan C. (though m not in book, she marrie my GGGF, Gerge William SLUSHER on 7 Sep 1858) NOTE NOTE NOTE: Take a look at your child #5: Adam and Mary (HINKLE) JUDY's daughter, Elizabeth was 15 y/o in the 1850 census and thus born about 1835 as you said. My JUDY KIMBLE SLUSHER connection: Adam JUDY, s/o Nicholas TSCHUDI/JUDY & Mary FULTZ, was b 14 Mar 1787 VA - d ? - m 25 May 1821 Pendleton Co, VA/WVA, to Mary KIMBLE, d/o Adm KIMMEL/KIMBLE - Mary b ca 1802 VA - d after 1880 - Mary (KIMBLE) JUDY was living with her Dau, Susan, and Susan's husb, George William SLUSHER in Famers Station, Marion Twp, Clinton Co, OH, in 1880. She was then age 68 according to the census. Children of Adam and Mary JUDY: i. Poss Elizabeth JUDY? ii. Prob Mahala JUDY b ? - d before 1850 - m 24 Jan 1839 to Robert R. JOHNSON - Robert b ? - d after 1860. NOTE: Am 99% sure that Mahala was a d/o of Adam and Mary. In the 1850 Pendleton Co Census (#270) show the following household: Adam JUDY 62 VA Farmer Mary JUDY 44 VA Susan C JUDY 9 VA (my GGGM) Rebecca E. JOHNSON 9 VA Adam J. JOHNSON 6 VA Charles W. JOHNSON 3 VA The 1860 Pendleton Co Census shows Rebecca JOHNSON (18), Adam JOHNSON (16) and Charles JOHNSON (13) living with Robert L. JOHNSON. NOTE: I believe that above shows that Adam and Mary JUDY were caring for their 3 "Grandchildren" in 1850 (as their daughter Mahala has died) and that the children were back living with their father in 1860. iii. Susan Catherine JUDY b 23 Jul 1841 Pendleton Co, VAWVA - d 5 Apr 1934 Washington Court House, Fayette Co, OH, of a fractured hip - buried Sect 3 Lot 39, Washington Cemetery, Washington Court House, Fayette Co, OH - m 7 Sep 1858 Pendleton Co, VA, to George Williams SLUSHER, s/o Alfred SLUSHER and Nancy Ann SKIDMORE - occ: carpenter - George b 2 Jul 1838 Moorefield, Hardy Co, VA/WVA - d 15 Nov 1908 Prob in area of Clinton Co, OH, - George buried IIOF Cemeter, Rte 28, Blancehester, Clinton Co, OH. Note: Adam and Mary Kimble were married over 20 years to the time of Susan's birth. This strongly indicates the probable existence of older siblings who we emancipated, or in the case of Mahala, died before the 1850 Census. Note: Furth proof that Susan was the daughter of Adam JUDY and Mary KIMBLE is a 1882 Beers article " History of Clinton County, Ohio" that has an article on the family which begins as follows: "George W. Slusher, farmer, P.O. Blanchester, son of Alfred and Nancy (Skidmore) Slusher, was born in Hardy County, VA, July 2, 1838. When e was quite young he learned the carpenter trade with is father, at which he has worked nearly all of his life. He was married in Pendleton County, V., September 7, 1858, to Susan, daughter of Adam and Mary (Kimble) Judy, born in Pendleton County, July 23, 1841 ....... etc".
