    3. Debbie, I, too, am a descendant of Eleanor and Richard Pennington. If anyone brings to light to you the origin of the assumption that Eleanor's maiden name was Pritchard, I'd really appreciate it if you would contact me, and let me know, as I am also working on this line. Thanks so much, J. 3. Barbara, My grandmother was born in Crabbottom. It's now one of those places that's known by it's former name, but doesn't officially exist as Crabbottom. It is in Highland County, Virginia, near the town of Blue Grass. It's fairly close to the Highland/Pendleton Co., WV line. 2. Dear Group - I need to ask what may appear to be a "stupid" question as in "DUH" Regarding our connected ancestors, Arbogasts, MicDonalds, Wimer/Wymers, and on and on - while the ancestors were in Europe in their various locations - how did THEY KNOW to come to America. Were there postings around in villages, etc- as in "Hey, guys, how about a cruise to this place called America" And after they decided "Think I'm going to cruise on over to that America place" how did they know WHERE TO ARRIVE and how to END UP in Pendleton, and so forth. Can anyone shed light on this profound question to me. Barbara McDonald Levine

    2. I believe that Mary is the daughter of Henry and Catherine Wimer. She is not a daughter of George, who may or may not have been a brother to Henry. The Pendleton County library has quite a bit of information on the Wimers including a book entitled "The Immigrant Wimer Brothers" by Don Hinkle and Glenn Huffman, 1982; a supplement to that book by Glenn Huffman, 1990; and Frederick G. Siegrist's "Family History of Wimer and Zickefoose Families of Pendleton and Lewis Counties". Hope this is of some help. Judy Corrin

    3. Hello List, I am searching for the parentage of my GGGG grandmother, Mary Wimer/Wymer who married George Thompson on April 29, 1819 in Pendleton County, (West) Virginia. Jesse Hinkle was the minister, and the bond was signed by George Thompson, John Thompson, and George Wimer (perhaps Mary's father?). I would appreciate any information/clues that those on the list might be able to provide me with.
