A very nice thought. I gave my son and daughter in law such a gift after the birth of my first and only grandson, and they were elated. People seem particularly interested in the computer's capability of listing all their relatives. Census forms, as we all know, just give you dates and places and names....nothing that makes a person that he is... If a serious genealogist is THAT serious about leaving something for the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and following generations, how about taking that genealogy program and make up couple of books of yourself and all your ancestors, including your current children and grandchildren (Yeah, I know, some of us haven't gotten that far yet) and donate it to your local genealogy library and a copy to the LDS Library in Salt Lake.... Don't forget to include family stories and copies of photos... (AND an index. How many times have we picked up books without indexes and just groaned at the sheer volume) That book of yours tells much more than an old govt form. Regards, Diane

I live in Charles Co., Maryland and am very active in the Historical Society, etc. here. Recently, I was in a Thrift Store here in our county seat and stumbled upon a book in excellent condition. The book entitled, "Beyond the Mountains, an Autobiography" by Dr. Luther Flynn, copyright 1979, Library of Congress Catalog Number: 79-66988. My question to you is, would you know of any of the Flynn family that lives in Pendleton County that would possibly like to have this book? I am an avid geneology researcher for my own family and know how difficult at times to find a wealth of information. This book is beautifully done and published by the McClure Printing Co, Inc. Verona, VA. If you don't, I will probably donate it to our local So. Maryland Heritage Center at the La Plata Campus of CCCC. Just thought I'd offer it first to the area from where it began. Sincerely, Janet Scott Cox --------------106147A67D5BE8C33197A208--

Hello Cousins, I am planning another research trip to your county in Sept. 2000, was hoping someone could help answer a question for me. How do you find out who currently owns a piece of land ? Andrew Jackson GUTHRIE and Sarah EYE owned a mountian top farm. This land was passed on to thier son John Balm GUTHRIE and MaryJane TURNER. According to a deed I found on my last research trip in 1998, he signed over (sold) this property to a Samuel W. GUTHRIE in 1950. How can I find out who owns this now? Thanks in Advance Cindy
