    3. I Think you will find that one name is Alexander Pickens. I do know the Sniders and Jacob who bought the land is mine. If I knew where he came from I would be the happiest soul in the world. Maybe your query will help mine. George Snider is a brother to the Frederick in my other line. The Sniders settled in that area early (A John and Jacob) close to the line of present day Highland Co. I am fairly sure the Sniders are german, but the Pickens goes back to the Scot-Irish line, I think they were further over in Va., migrating there from Pa. I will have to dig in my file to find if I have any more on them. Jean

    3. Yes this is the same. I would love any information you have on John Lambert and Winifred Nelson Summerfield. He is also my 3great grandfather. I am a descendant of Solomon Mullenax and Winifred Lambert oldest son Washington James Mullenax. There children are: Washington James b. 6 May 1834 in Pendleton Co., VA(WV) d. 14 April 1920 Ritchie Co., WV married Sarah Ellen Kerns 10 April 1856 in Ritchie Co., VA(WV) Margaret A. b. c. 1837 or 1838 in Pendleton Co., VA (WV) d. ? married William Collins 6 Dec 1861 in Ritchie Co., WV Mary C. bc.1839 or 1840 I n Harrison Co. Cunningham 23 Sept 1865 in Ritchie Co., WV Prascovia b. c 1846 in Lewis Co. VA (WV) d. ? Married Edward Reed 19 Feb 1865 in Ritchie Co., WV On the 1850 Census Solomon is married to a Susan, who I have found out to be Susan Moats. Solomon and Susan are the parents of Julian, Levi and Samuel. They moved to Missouri in the 1860's. On all these children's marriage license, according to an abstract of Ritchie Co. WV marriages, the parents are listed as Solomon, Solomon and W or Solomon and Winifred Mullenax. Prascovia's definitely said Solomon and Winifred. I would love to find Winifred's death date and Susan's and Solomon's Marriage license. 3. Hello, I'm Bill Larew, I live in Newburg, Preston Co. I'm interested in the Lambert Family. My Mom was a Lambert, her GGGrand Father was Solomon Lambert s/o John & Hannah Lambert. He was listed in the PC census of 1870 but not in 1860 so I presume they came here between 1860 & 70. His wife was Malinda Nicholas, d/o Adison & Mary Nicholas. The story goes that were from a place called Crab Bottom. Does anyone know where that might be? There was a Query on Rootsweb WVPENDLE dated Nov. 98 from a Diane Moore looking for info on Solomon and Malinda. Her email address is no longer any good, I would really like to talk to her, if anyone knows who she is or how to contact her. I'm looking forward talking to you in the future. Thanks and have a Great day. Bill

    3. I hope this is partially responsive to your Q. There were a lot of Wilsons, including several Samuel's and probably a William or two at Doe Hill in what is now Highland County (then part of Pendleton). 3. Subject: BIRCHER/HOLT/HAMRICK/NEWLON Hello, I am searching for information on Jeremiah (Jerry) Bircher, born in Preston County, the son of Matthew and Nancy Bircher. In 1875 he married a Lucinda Holt. At that time he was 36 and a widower. His first wife's name was Sarah, but not completely sure if her last name was Hamrick or Newlon. Family records have shown it to be Hamrick but census reports show a Jeremiah Bircher married to Sarah Newlon from eastern Virginia. One of his children, Elizabeth, married John Shingleton in 1903. They lived in Grafton. Jerry Bircher and Lucinda (Holt) are listed as living in Harrison County. Jerry and Sarah (Hamrick/Newlon?) listed as living in Taylor County. Thank you. Becky Boggs

    2. Hello. I'm working on tracing the migration of the Lazear Family from Maryland. I've gotten some data on a Joseph Lazear who is listed in the Sims Index as buying land in Pendleton Co., VA in 1798. In 1807 Joseph and Christenia Leezer sold land to Jacob Snider. 90 acres at Stony Run. Consideration of 50 Pounds. Recorded in Book 4 pages 401 & 402. I recently got the 1810 Pendleton Co Federal Census. JOseph was a 00101. The colums on women are hard to decipher. There might be a 1 marked in the column for women 45 and above. I didn't have any great awakening after seeing the data, so I am asking if anyone RECOGNIZES ANY OF THESE FAMILIES? These are the top 20 families listed on either side of Joseph Lazear: Geo How Leahmiah Burkett?
