I didn't expect a response so quickly, if at all! I don't know if I can be of much help. My Dad is John William Ambrose - and his dad was John William Ambrose - my Grandfather died in 1956, I was born in 1964 so I didn't even know HIM - not to mention the J W Ambrose in question. The only thing I do know about my great grandparents is that Sarah left John when my grandfather was in his early 20's and away for WWI. She was seen boarding a train with another man and was NEVER seen again. They had no idea where she went and my Grandfather is said to never have mentioned her again. However - whatever info you are missing...if you could let me know, I would be more than happy to ask my Dad or my aunt if they might have the answers for you!
