    1. Re: Obituary for MRS. SARAH E. SPOHR MICHAEL
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: SPOHR, SILER, MCBEE, BLAKER, MEEK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FEC.2ACE/793.1.1 Message Board Post: The following is information I have on the SPOHR family in Morgan County West Virginia. From the article by Kathern Allemong, "Morgan County School History" - From Morgan County and Its People, Fred Newbraugh states the name SPOHR came from Theodorus SPOHR who was born in Switzerland about 1740. He was the son of Hans Ulrich SPOHR and his wife Margaret SILER. They came to America in 1740 and settled in this area. I do not have the name of Theodorus “Theodore” SPOHR'S wife at this time. (If anyone out there has the name of Theodorus’ wife I would appreciate an email.) Theodorus SPOHR had three sons. Their names were Henry SPOHR, Edward SPOHR and Simeon SPOHR. I found this information listed at FamilySearch Ancestry File. Henry SPOHR married Elizabeth. I do not know Elizabeth’s maiden name. (If anyone out there has a maiden name for Elizabeth I would appreciate an email.) Henry and Elizabeth had 12 children. Their names were Mary, Sarah, Susan, Frances, Harrison, Lavina, Edward, Emeline, Christina, Hannah, George, and Henry Clay. I also found this information from the LDS site. Henry and Elizabeth SPOHR'S daughter Mary married Zachariah MCBEE. Zachariah MCBEE is my G-G-G-Grandfather. Mary and Zachariah had 7 children. Their second born son Henry Clay MCBEE is my G-G-Grandfather. Henry and Elizabeth SPOHR'S son George T. married Sarah M. MCBEE. Sarah M. MCBEE was the daughter of Townsend MCBEE and Sarah BLAKER. (Townsend was Zachariah McBee’s brother.) I do not have a listing for an Elizabeth SPOHR that lists a Lewis MEEK. As for Susan SPOHR, the only information I have at this time is that information that is previously listed. By the way, I have Susan’s birthdate as 1815. I am not sure if this is correct since I have not researched this information in more detail.
