Harmison, born 1888, both married persons with the surname Hovermale. I assume thet the Hovermale spouces were also brother and sister. This occured in Morgan County, WV.     3. I would be interested in any information you have about Spohrs in the Morgan/Berkeley County area. I have an Elizabeth Spohr as the wife of Lewis Meek b. 1735 Berkeley County VA d. 1830, with a daughter, Nancy Meek(s) who married my John W. Unger of Morgan County.     2. I have seen this "closing" of records on several sites for several states. What I find interesting is that birth and death announcements were placed much of the time in the newspapers of the area, which in my mind makes them "public record". It seems to me the government is going a little too far to protect identities. I understand the concerns about identity theft but as one writer put it, everytime you use the internet you have a chance of having your identity stolen. It may be too late now, but maybe and exception could have been made for genealogists but I guess trying to ascertain and identify true researchers would be too cumbersome for the government. Edie

Vg Hamilton 2, b Vg Also there is another son I know of Harrison BUTT/BUTTS b. ca 1849 Harrison BUTTS was in Cherry Run, W. V. in 1915 and Hamilton BUTTS was in Brunswick, MD. in 1915......... No other persons in the household. He was a farmer. There is no Morgan County marriage record for them, nor any record for Archibald for an earlier marriage, at least from 1865 forward. They probably married in Berkeley County; the marriage record might give you the parents' names.
