Hi Angel, I don't have my paperwork with me to answer the verification of children, but after the holidays when things get back to normal I'll look through what I've got. I do know that my gr-great grandfather was Harrison, not William Harrison. He married Hannah Hobday. If anyone knows any burial places of these people, that would be great to know too. I have the feeling they're on somebody's farm land in unmarked graves. The other post saying Christian Miller was married twice is news to me but there were so many Christian Millers. Not having anything else to go by made it a real needle in a haystack. I also notice that in those lists of offspring there is no Harrison listed. This happens to me a lot. I research a family, and my ancestor, who I know is supposed to be there isn't listed. Maybe this is why I have so many brick walls! Maybe between us, we can get our information on the Millers and Catletts. I know the Catletts were a prominent Virginia family, but again, I don't see our Catherine anywhere. Keep me posted on what you find, and I'll do the same. Happy New Year. Janis
Interesting. I just found that one myself today. I had no idea it was new. I already e-mailed the submitter as well. We will see what her sources are! Very exciting!! Angel and other Miller/Catlett researchers, Just today a new tree has been posted on Rootsweb World Connect. It says that Christian Miller had two wives; Elizabeth Catlett b. ca 1780 in Frederick (Co?) VA. There were five children: Catherine (Kitty) Miller; William b. ca 1805; Christian, Jr. b. ca 1810 and Lewis b. 21 Dec 1818. His second wife was Catherine Catlett b. ca 1795. They had children: Edward; b. 1821, Elizabeth b. Aug 1824; Jackson b. ca 1827; Elisha b. ca 1832; Richard S. b. ca 1834; Mary Ellen b. ca 1836, Rachel Cecelia b. ca 1838 and Ann b. ca 1839. This site also says that Christian Miller was the son of Christian Miller b. 1744 in Zweibrucken, Germany and Catherine Wiseman b. ca 1746 in VA. The tree is titled "Shirley's Data Base" and can be found using the search terms with Christian Miller and Catlett for a spouse. I plan to contact the submitter and find out where her information comes from. Joy
Doris, I am sorry. I have not come across that name, but if and when I do, I will be sure to give you what I find. On another note, do you know if after the courthouse fire in aug.when they moved some paperwork to Ft. Worth, if the paperwork is still there? I live about 25 minutes from there and would like to go see what they have if it is still there! Hi Janis, That is great that we would be related! My gr gr gr grandfather is Edward C. Miller. Can you tell me how you have proved that Christian and Catherine are their parents. What are your sources? I am determined to find out how these Millers came to America and from whence they came before that! I have dates also for all their children. Edward C.is the oldest, then Elizabeth, Andrew Jackson, Elisha, Richard, Ellen, Rachel and William Harrison.I have to find my source so I can't name it yet but as I go through my paperwork, I will let you know! I know the marriage of Christian and Catherine is in the Morgan County Marriages 1820-1865 book by the genealogical society. They were married November 8th, 1820.Listed on page 1.I also have that Christian Miller was a farmer. I think I got that from a census. Between the two of us, hopefully we can find more detail on Christian and Catherine Miller! Angel > Hi Angel, > Christian Miller and Catherine Catlett were the parents of my gr-great > grandfather, Harrison Miller. Hello Angel, I believe we also have corresponded years ago. I, too, am interested in anything on the family of Christian Miller and Catharine Catlett. I am descended from their daughter, Elizabeth Miller who married William Martin Henry, Jr. I have done no research on this Miller line and do not even have a source for what I do have. Here is what I show on that line. If you or Janis can fill in the blanks or correct errors, I would appreciate it. Christian Miller b. 1776 in PA + Catharine Catlett b. 1795-1805 in VA m. Aug 1820 1.Elizabeth b.Aug 1824 d. 24 May 1905 m. April 1, 1844 +William Martin Henry, Jr. 2.Mary b. 1836 3.Ann 1839 Elizabeth Miller Henry and William Martin Henry are buried at Oakland Cemetery, Morgan County. I descend from Peter E. Henry, son of Elizabeth Miller and William Martin Henry, Jr. Peter Henry married Anna V. Shockey. Their daughter, Edith Henry Unger was my grandmother. Janis is saying that Christian Miller and Catharine Catlett had children: Edward C., Harrison, Elizabeth, Andrew Jackson, Elisha, Richard, Ellen and Rachel. I would love some verification for the above information and anything else that's known about this family. I've just ignored them in my research and I need to pay some attention to them. Thanks. Joy
Hi Angel, Christian Miller and Catherine Catlett were the parents of my gr-great grandfather, Harrison Miller. I have their children listed as follows: Edward C. Miller, Harrison Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Andrew Jackson Miller, Elisha Miller, Richard Miller, Ellen Miller, Rachel Miller. Do you know anything about Christian Miller and Catherine Catlett? All I know is he was born abt. 1774 in PA and she was born in 1795 in Virginia. Would love to have more info on them. Thanks for any help. Janis
Hello Angel, I believe we corresponded some years ago regarding our families. My g-great grandmother was Mary Estella Miller who married Harry Hasenbuhler from Cherry Run, WV. I have quite a bit on the Hasenbuhler family, but lack info on the family of Mary Estella Miller. Do these names ring a bell with you? Hello, It has been awhile since I have done my genealogy. I am strating up again and am writing to see if anyone has Christian Miller (b. 1774, Pennsylvania) and Catherine Catlett (b.1795) in their database. I remember Harry Grossman had info. on them and I was trying to prove that my Edward C. Miller was his son. Edward Miller had a younger brother named Andrew Jackson Miller so if you are related through him also, please write!! Thank you. Angel
