    3. Hi Roy, I have an Elizabeth Leach that was born in the Sinking Creek Area, Monroe County, I don't have my notes in from of me, but I think her father was William or Richard Leach. I think that she was born in the 1800's. Sandy Moten. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [SMTP:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, July 09, 1999 8:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [WVMONROE-L] Self introduction Hi all from Texas I am Roy L. Leach, [email protected], and as you can see, gen as in geneaolgy describes my interest in Monroe County, WV. I descend from William Leach from Prince Edward County, VA, and from one of his 9 (?) children...Matthew who came to then the Sinks, Monroe County about 1787. Matthew and several of his brothers migrated to Lincoln County, KY about 1826. Matthew , with his son, John, next appeared as winners in the 1927 land lottery in Georgia. Their names apprear on as residents of Gilmer, Forsyth and Hall County, Ga, With Matthew last listed in the 1860 Forsyth County, GA census as residing in the house of John Leach, with age given as 104 years. I suspect a memory problem. So much for ancesters background. I was born in Atlanta, Ga on April 19, 1924, the first son of Willian Jason Leach and Ella Jane Lawson. I attended schools in Kansas City, MO, Gainesville, Hall County Ga. I graduated from the Univ of TX, El Paso, with a degree in accounting. I was invited to Texas by Uncle Sam in 1942, and with the exception of three absent periods in Saipan and Korea, I have in Fort Worth ever since. I hope this brief biography fits your request for a self introduction. Other than the aboved, I currently have my wife, my four grown children and their offspring, and my genealogy as my sole interests ==== WVMONROE Mailing List ==== RootsWeb is a great site to inspect: http://www.rootsweb.com
