I haven't been following the pension situation closely but I have a bit of input, I think. I believe that the subject began receiving a pension long before 1890, is that correct? The reason the 1890 Veterans and Widows census was done was to find those folks so that Congress could set aside moneys to be paid as pensions. Still it was some years before Congress did act and I can't remember just when. Possibly his pension was from the State. I would like to know just for the information. Thanks. Betty in Idaho
