David, I found info. on the internet showing JAMES ELLIS b.1740 d. abt. 1847, married CELIA WOODSIDER on July 15, 1801, in Monroe Co., Va. They were the parents of ELIHU ELLIS, who married ELIZABETH ALDERSON. They were married Feb. 28, 1822, in Wayne Co., Indiana. The names of ALFRED & CHISM are found as names in all the generations. Hope this will lead me to further info. I am going to purchase the book that has ELLIS info. for WVA. Maxine
