Dear Sandy, Charles Nathen Helems was b. 7/11/1875 in Craig Co., VA, son of William Mathew Hellems and Hester Ann Baker. He was b. 1831 in Botetourt Co., VA, and she was b. 1843 in Monroe Co, the dtr. of William Washington Baker and Sarah Jane Worsham. William Mathew Hellems was the son of John Helms and Rebecca Drummond m. in Botetourt Co., VA, in 1818. William M. was listed as a shoemaker. I show that Nathan Helems had 2 sisters, Dona Ellen Helems b. 1879 at Paint Bank d. 1947, and Martha Musto Helems b. 1884 in Craig Co., VA. d. 1956. I have not taken the Hellems line beyond the above-mentioned John and am still researching, and if you will provide the names and dates of Nathan's descendants, as well as his sisters, I would be most appreciative.
