Hey all, I have a few Riner marriages in Monroe Co. that I'd like a bit more information on if any is available. I'm hopeing that there may be some more info. out there from the Thompson side. I know who the Riners are but would like to know if anyone has a connection for the Thompsons or a local family of this era that has similiar names with unknown spouses. The Riners are children of John (b. after 1858) and Lydia (?) Riner who came to Rich Creek, Monroe Co. somewhere around October of 1819 (1st land purchase) from the Robinson River area just South of Madison, Madison Co., Virginia. The Riners are all mentioned as children of John and Lydia in a property dispersement in Madison Co., Virginia after John died about 1820 or so. Seems the Riners had property in both Madison and Monroe Co., and not all (if any) of the family had actually moved to Monroe Co., when John died somewhere about 1820-1823. 1. Simeon Riner (my Gr Gr Gr Grand) b. about 1799, Va. Married 12/19/1819 Monroe Co., Virginia Mary (Polly) Thompson b. about 1800 Monroe Co., Virginia (family tradition has d/o John Thompson a neighbor on Rich Creek) 2. Frances (Fanny) Riner b. about 1804, Va. Married 11/11/1822 Monroe Co., Virginia Thomas Thompson b. unknown 3. Elizabeth Riner b. 1807, Va. Married 6/16/1828 Monroe Co., Virginia John Thompson Sr. b. about 1808 Monroe Co., Virginia Thanks for any help at all on these Thompsons. I'm hopeing to find siblings and parents of Simeon Riners wife and my Gr Gr Gr grandmother Mary (Polly) Thompson and thought maybe these three Thompsons were connected somehow. Three sisters in this same Riner family married three brothers/cousins from the local Broyles clan and was thinking maybe these above three possibly married Thompson siblings............anyway children or location of either Fanny or Elizabeth (Riner) Thompson's families after marriage dates would be much appreciated.
