Mike, I have a copy of a book entitled WV Estate Settlements (1753-1850), and under Monroe Co., there is a listing for James Ellison's Will, 2/18/1839. Elizabeth was listed as his wife; Francis and Joseph listed as sons, and dtrs. listed were Massy Cantly, Nancy Halstead, Elizabeth Shumate, Ruth Smith, Polly Wilson. This is the only info. listed in this source, but until you can access the Will itself, perhaps this will be of some help in your research.
