Does anyone have more children for John Nickell and Barbara McCombe that Susannah and Isaac? So far those are the only two I have found. Any help greatly appreciated. Betty in Idaho
Betty, Go to: http://nickell.tierranet.com There is much NICKELL information. You will find that Barbara McCOMB (d/o of Rebeckah YOUNG and Unknown McCOMB) was John NICKELL's second wife. An unknown LEWIS was his first wife and the mother of: John II Thomas Elizabeth Joseph Isaac Barbara McCOMB, John's 2nd wife was the mother of: Susannah Robert Andrew My 4th great grandparents were Isaac NICKELL and Margaret CURRY. Margaret CURRY was the d/o Dr. Robert A. CURRY, Sr. and his first wife Elizabeth McCOMB. Elizabeth McCOMB was the d/o Jane RAEBURN and Andrew McCOMB. Dr. CURRY's second wife was his cousin Ann CURRY who was the d/o James CURRY. I have transcribed wills for many of the above thereby documenting their lineage. For more CURRY records, go to Linda Dudick's website at: http://www.ancestrees.com Regards, Maggie Phillips
I descend from the Young family of Monroe. My gggrand parents were James Parker and Elizabeth Young daughter of William and Polly Young. Elizabeth was born 1790 and died Dec. 13, 1885 and was buried on Parker Mountain. They were married Nov. 29, 1810 in Monroe Co. Va/WV Does this connect to anyone. Sue
Hello list members, Since we are talking about the YOUNG family maybe someone can help me with my elusive Youngs: John W. Young born to Samuel and ?? Young in 1865/6-md. in Summers Co. on July 11, 1889 Alabama S. Mowery daughter of William and Mary (Roles) Mowery. She was born 1867/8. I cannot find them in the 1900 census or any after that although in her father's obit in 1926 it says she lived in McDowell county at the time. If anyone has any info on this family I would be very grateful! I have info on "Allie's" family I am happy to share. These are too "recent" for my knowledge. I will keep an eye out though. I am bound and determined to figure them all out. Is there a genealogy angel out there that can confirm this baptism record ? Union Presbyterian Church- John McElhenney Humphreys , 7/18/1838 , Son of Samuel and Sarah Did the church actually exist in 1838 ? Does it still? Is this a true record ? Does it actually state "son of " or could Samuel and Sarah have been godparents ? Any help would be truly appreciated. Barbara
Before someone asks, 1) I forgot to number the last three of William and Sarah Young Curry's children 8-10, and 2) The "?" beside William's name was a typo. Sorry. :( Sharon ----- Original Message ----- From: ShaLamont <ShaLamont@email.msn.com> To: <WVMONROE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 15, 2000 6:29 PM Subject: [WVMONROE] Sarah Young/Wm. Have had the day to re-read and digest the info from this morning. I can only see one thing I can clarify. Sarah Young may have been born as early as 1695. One of her brothers, Robert Young, was born in 1711. They were both born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, near Larne, as this was the seat of the Youngs. Robert Curry's will, Dec 29, 1803, proved Dec 24, 1804, names wife Ann; children: Margaret Nickel, Mary Erwin, Ann Glenn, William, James, Robert m. Sarah Young d/o Robert Young (I am not sure which Robert this is but may have in my files - I am still looking.), Alexander and Isah (Isaiah?) The will was witnessed by James Young Sr., Hugh Brown and Andrew Young. I have William Curry, b. 1690 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in my file as m. to Sally (Sarah) Young b. 1695, County Antrim. They married before 1717 In Ireland. Children: 1) Robert Curry b. Nov 10, 1717 in Londonderry, Ulster, Northern Ireland. 2) William ?Curry b. 1719 in County Antrim. Northern Ireland 3) James Curry (Sr.) b. 1728 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland 4) John Curry b. @ 1730 in Ireland 5) Nathan Curry b. @ 1732 in Ireland 6) David Curry b. @ 1734 in Ireland 7) Isaiah Curry b. @ 1720 in Ireland Sarah Curry b. @ 1740 in Ireland Jane/Jenny Curry b. @ 1742 in Ireland Joseph curry b. @ 1748 in Ireland Hope this helps someone. Wow! Sandy really went the extra mile in searching out and posting all that Young data! I knew a couple of them. You all are sure impressing me. This is a great list. If I can help, let me know. Most of my resources are for eastern KY but there are also many ties with WV and KY, so let me know. This Robert Curry is the son of the other Sarah Young and husband William Curry.
