    3. Dear Ed, Thank you for your reply to my e-mail. Yes, I am aware of the location of Greenville. I believe that my great great grandparents, David Hinton and Anna Barbary Maddy Hinton are buried at Greenville. I am not sure of their church membership - it may have been Baptist. By any chance, have you seen any early era (1800-1830) property maps for the Greenville vicinity? Do you know where I might be able to access such a property map? I have quite a few property deed records for my family in Monroe County; however, I do not have any property (location) maps. 3. Hi Robert, Thanks for the response. I don't know too much about Cook genealogy, but I know a little about the Cook history. There was a Cook's Fort in the earliest history of Greenbrier -- protection for the settlers during the Indian War era roughly 1755-1763. Cooks Run is in present Monroe Co. and runs into Indian Creek near Greenville. The Miller, Mann, Humphreys and others lived here quite early on. Rev. Cook (I believe) was minister of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. Many of my wife's Humphreys, Miller, Mann, and Ballard ancestors worshipped there. Here is a link to mapquest.com - specifically, a map of the Cook's Run/Indian Creek area. http://www.mapquest.com/cgi-bin/ia_find?link=btwn/twn-map_results&event=find_select&search=Greenville,+WV,+US&uid=u0b60ddjr8i2k5ie:rsu01gd0y&lat=375433&lng=-806828&country=US&level=6&style=2&width=440&height=280 Maybe some other more COOK knowledgeable folk will see this post at the Monroe-L and help us both. The reason the 1890 Veterans and Widows census was done was to find those folks so that Congress could set aside moneys to be paid as pensions. Still it was some years before Congress did act and I can't remember just when. Possibly his pension was from the State. I would like to know just for the information. Thanks. Betty in Idaho
