Hi Karen, In the book "Giles County, Virginia; History - Families" I was able to find: Andrew W. Thomas, Jan. 17, 1870 - Feb. 13, 1942, (mason) Josie Lou Thomas, Sept. 28, 1875 - Feb. 19, 1953 Sorry, but there is no James Woods Thomas listed in Peterstown Cemetery. You're right about lots of Spanglers being buried there. Peterstown Cemetery used to be called Spangler Cemetery. Hope this helped and good luck with your searches. I found a great site on the Charleston Gazette page. The address is http://www.wvgazette.com/ Scroll down a little and there is a site where the Gazette is running excerpts from the paper from 1899 and also pictures from past editions. This is a great site, with mention of people from all over the state. I haven't had time to look at all the photos of course, but there is some interesting information there. Janet Estep
I'm fairly new to this list and am researching BALLENGEE, BURDETTE, FINK families from Monroe Co. Do you have the Monroe Border index for those letters? I may have missed them from earlier messages. Thanks. Janet Estep

Received this request from a non-member. Does anyone have this information? -----Original Message----- From: carol santos [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, March 26, 1999 4:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: genealogy I am an attorney living in New Orleans (my name is Carol Haynes) and the paternal side of my family was from Lewisburg. I am looking for information on Harry Suthcliff Cooper (who was a descendant of Cyriacus Fleischman). Mr. Cooper would have been the grandson of Sarah Fleshman/Fleischman and Jesse Cooper (b. l770?l780) and the son of Sarah Elizabeth Wallace and Jesse Cooper (b. l827) --snip Richard H. Cara, Thank you for your post. Thomas Jefferson HOBBS was my gg grandfather. I have a good deal of information on him, less on his siblings, and even less on his father, James HOBBS. For the record, James HOBBS married Mary DOLLARD on April 26, 1799. The April 22 date was the marriage bond. They were married in Bedford County (Liberty City) by the Reverend Isham Fuqua, a prominent Baptist minister. I am trying to determine if James HOBBS owned any land in Monroe County in 1820 or after, and the birth order of his daughters. I will happily latch onto any scrap of information that may give me a clue as to his parents in England or any siblings he may have had and their migration patterns. Once again, thank you so much for your reply. Bill Hobbs
Hi G, I don't believe that the F through P surnames were posted to the list. I just check the mailing list archives and could only find the A - E postings. Do you still have a copy of the F-P?
