Hi Jane, Ellie here, haven't talked to you in ages, yes, you have two Elizabeth Wisemans mixed up. To answer your question - "What was the relationship between Owen & Issac Wiseman - Issac was Owen's grandfather, Joseph D. was Owen's father. By the way I now have Weikle-L up & running on rootsweb. Hello, Can't find my papers at this moment, but Maggert/Maggard name is part of my Adam Caperton( killed 1782 at Estill's Defeat) who married Elizabeth Miller - daughter of Jacob Miller Jr born 1726 in Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Fudge. Elizabeth Fudge's mother may have been a Maggart/Maggard.. Caperton's mother was Thompson. I will try to find my papers and get back to you.Shirley
I have the Livelys of America books and there is quite a bit on Patsy, her husband and her parents/siblings/children - is that what you are looking for? anything in particular? - JoAnne
Hello, I'm researching the following names: Wickline Lowe Buckland, Thomas (m. Margaret Wickline) descendants Maggert/Maggard Ragland Herbert Carson Kountz/Counts Beckner
Having dug around for Monroe County information for nigh on to about 18 years, now, I'm wondering if I overlooked some information or misread something. I found an Elizabeth Jane Wiseman b. 8 May 1798, daughter of Isaac Wiseman, II, and Mary Magdalena Armentrout. I have Elizabeth's husband as John Slagle and a marriage date of 1 May 1818 in Monroe County. I presume, then, that this was another Elizabeth Jane. Ironically I also have this Elizabeth Jane married to Alexander Wikel in about 1842 and having 3 more children: Owen Jackson Wikle in 1845, George in about 1850, and James Fletcher in 1860...these last 3 when she was age 46, 57, and 62, respectively. Though possible on occasion it isn't too likely that children were born when the mother was age 57 and 62. So, I must have mixed up 2 different Elizabeth Jane Wisemans. Also I have an Isaac Wiseman, III, (b. 1796) whose wife was Sarah Ramsey...marr. 31 Mary 1817. Perhaps these are the parents of Elizabeth Jane Wiseman who married Alexander Wikel. What relationship was Owen B. Wiseman to Isaac Wiseman, III? ...jane

Sandra: Thank you for being so generous if offering to research from your book. Maybe you can help me with a major brickwall! Searching for more info on GG-grandfather Reuben Hall [4-4-1809 ~ 9-12-1866] married Jane Long [3-3-1813 ~ 4-18-1875] in Union, Monroe Co., WV on 5-27-1830. Am trying to find where he was born and who his parents/siblings/ancetors were. Do know that Jane Long was the daughter of Brumfield Long [1766-??, Spotsylvania Co., VA] and Letitia Roach [1770-??, Orange Co.,VA]. Reuben had a brother Archibald Hall [1801-??] who witnessed marriage documents. There is possibly two more brothers Elijah [??-??] and Jacob [1814-??]. Any information you may have on Reuben Hall will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Keith A. Hall Roanoke, VA PS: You probably have already responded. If so, sorry I didn't get it.

Marilee, Well hello cousin, where have you been. You have just hit the jackpot and saved me alot of runaround. My mother-in-law said that she thought that Alex would be the ancestor. She's got that whole gut feeling thing going. Would you happen to have any documents verifying this information, i.e. marriage or birth certificates? If so, could you please attach? You have no idea what a lifesaver you are. Now, it is safe to say that this is the George Wikle from Augusta, do you have anything prior to him? I did check Augusta County Census and found 2 Weikles but the records would not open. I will keep digging and see what I can scrounge up. thanx so much crystal

Our family has a marriage we would be interested in. William Bean married Rachel Wiseman on or about November 20, 1813 in Monroe County. We need to know who the parents were for William Bean and any other information that may be in your book. Thank you very much for your help. Phillip

They are from Summers Co., in fact, Pipestem where all my family is from. E-mail me privately for information. I'm not sure if this person is still living or not and I don't want to step on toes by sending out information on a living relative. Carol
