Hi Sandy and anyone else that might be able to help! I'm interested in any Egnors that are mentioned in your book (I'd be surprised if there were many). I see you listed some Erskines with the Murdocks for Tracy in WA (Hi Tracy!). I'm curious: are there any more Erskines in your book, besides the three you listed for Tracy? I know you've been bombarded with requests, so just whenever you have time. I'm trying to find the parents of Alexander Erskine (b. ~1810) who married Elizabeth Egnor on Mar 27, 1833 in Monroe County. (I'd REALLY love to find Elizabeth's parents too--more than anything else in this world--been a brick wall for decades!) Known children of Alex and Elizabeth that were born between 1836-1863: Nancy Erskine Mary J. Erskine Arch M. Erskine Alex Erskine Isabel Erskine Catherine Erskine Ellen C. Erskine Delilah Erskine (not the same as the one who married a Murdock) Elizabeth Erskine I realize none of these people would be listed in your book of marriages, but perhaps somebody out there has info on who they married. I'd appreciate hearing from you! ---Celia ----- Original Message ----- From: Sandra Moten <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 15, 1999 4:46 PM Subject: Re: [WVMONROE-L] Submit a Question > Here is your Murdocks: > > Apr 12, 1841, Murdock, James and Delila Erskine > > Sept 9, 1811, Erskine, Henry and Jane Murdock 9-10 William Adair (m) 9-10 > is the actual date they married on. > > Dec 1, 1824, Erskine, Michael and Nancy Ereskine Jas. Any Wills for Sowards, Lewis, Chapman? Thanks, Jim
I'm not connected directly to the LOWEs but one of my ancestors, Rachael Wickline, married Thomas Lowe in Monroe County, WV. I and another lady are trying to put together some Wickline books and, of course, we need all the help we can get with respect to researching the daughters in the Wickline family. Someone else who is researching LOWEs because he is a direct descendant is Bill Bailey in CA. Have you been in touch with him? He and Carolyn Griffin in Ypsilanti have done quite a bit of LOWE research. ...jane
Shirley, You are the VERY FIRST person I've heard from who can even identify with the name of Maggart/Maggard! I've been looking for my ancestor's (Susanna Maggert/Maggard) connection to others of the same surname for positively years! Thanks for getting in touch...looking forward to hearing more when you find your papers. ..jane
I may have some more information on Alexander Wikle. My grandfather was J. Fletcher Weikle. He was born on March 22,1856 and died on Feb. 22 1930. He was married to Molly Parker. I belive that Alexander could be my great grandfather. I found Alex M in the 1850 census. At that time Eliza was listed as his wife and the following: Owen 5, Silvester U 3, Michael 2 and George 3/12. So you see my grandfather would not have been born yet as he was born 1856. I am his youngest grandchild. But I remember my mother talking about Owen. Sue Taylor Durham

Hi Jo Anne! Thank you so much for your response! And yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for! I would be thrilled to have any information on Patsy, her family and her husband and children! I have none of their children, except Jacob Henderson and Caleb W. I know nothing about Patsy and her family. In fact, it's only been recently that we came across the information about the ALLEN family. Prior to that, all we had was Joseph Jasper Allen's name. (My husband's grandfather.) Joseph is a son of Caleb W. I would be especially interested in military information, where they originated from, any info from any wills, really, I'm interested in anything, period! I like to do the paternal and maternal lines! I'm so excited to hear from you!!! I want to say again how very much I would appreciate any information that you would be willing to share! I can receive attachments, if you want to send anything by email. God Bless! Brenda in MS.
