    1. [WVMONROE-L] NO MORE LOOKUPS
    2. Bill Hobbs
    3. Good morning, I wish to thank all of you for the opportunity to do some CSA lookups this past week. However, some of my descendants are coming to visit, and we shall spend some time at the graves of some of our ancestors. And, the library book is due back Tuesday. So, as of 4:45 am EDT on Saturday, I cannot do any more lookups from The Giles, Allegheny and Jackson Artillery by Keith Bohannon. Have a nice weekend, and take a moment to think about those ancestors who fought and died in all the wars we fought. Best wishes, Bill Hobbs

    2. In regards to the Monroe Co Hist Society, As far as I know there is no certain hours for them to be open, they can not get enough volunteers to keep it open, Several people have complianed abt it, but if you can't get volunteers you just can't keep it open all the time. All I can tell you is best of luck on your way through. Margureitte from WV

    1. Re: [WVMONROE-L] Monroe Historical Society
    2. Bill, It is almost "hit or miss" about finding the Monroe County Historical Society open. It is all done on a volunteer basis whenever someone can get over there. Unfortunately there is no schedule. I would suggest, though, that you might drop a note to the MCHS (P.O. Box 465, Union, WV 24983) and ask them if anyone will be there when you are in town. Another good place to visit while you are there is the Monroe County Library which is just around the corner and down the road about 1/4 mile on Route 219. I would hope, though, that since this is the bicentennial year that the MCHS would try to have someone there as often as possible. I'm trying to find a name and telephone number for you (their March quarterly newsletter didn't mention the names of ANY of the officers, but you could try and call Jay Banks who is pretty knowledgeable about most everything that goes on with respect to the MCHS. His telephone # is 304-772-5208. Good luck. ...jane
