    2. Virginia, Thanks for the information on the Allegheny Highlands Gen.Society days, hours. I just sent in a membership form. Unfortunately, work responsibilities are changing my plans to visit down there next week. I do hope to make the trip soon, though. By the way, I've been looking for several years for anything about the John Lewis, after whom Lewis Tunnel and Lewis Mountain are named. He was my 4th great grandftather. I've pretty well concluded that he was not related to the famous Lewis family of Augusta, Alllegheny and Monroe counties (Andrew Lewis, et al.) Would there be any information on him in the historical society collections? I've scoured the records in the courthouse and in Richmond, but have found nothing about his origin. He probably was born about 1787 and died in Allegheny County in before October 1869, when his will was probated.

    1. [WVMONROE-L] Hughes Families
    2. I'm still searching for the parents of my ancestor Henry Hughes. I've found him in the 1880 Summers Co., WV census living with a cousin. Pipestem District: Dwelling No. 63 Joseph C Hughes, male, age 40, pianist, born VA Amelia J, female, 40, wife, born NC Lillie A, female, 13, daughter, born NC Araminta L, female, age 8, daughter, born WV Mary E, female, age 6, daughter, born WV Hugh Gorden, male, age 2, son, born WV Henry, male, age 15, cousin, works on farm, born VA Would anyone how Henry and Joseph are cousins? Who might Joseph Hughes' parents be and how are they related to Henry's parents? I do find other Hughes in Pipestem District, they are probably Joseph's brothers. They are Gorden Hughes in Dwelling 48 and Hugh J Hughes in Dwelling 51. I only find one more Hughes in the 1880 census and that is Sarah E Hughes, age 11, living in the Isaac G Cox household (Dwelling 15; Jumping Branch District) as a domestic. Carol Pack Urban

    1. [WVMONROE-L] Alexander Surname
    2. Ritch, Celia & Beth
    3. Playing a hunch here. Does anyone have an unaccounted for female Alexander who could have had a child in 1811 in Monroe County, Va/WV? Just curious. I know the name Archibald is in the Alexander line. I have a child born 1811 named Archibald Egnor, his father may have been a John Eggner/Agner and his mother may have been a Mary. Perhaps her surname was Alexander, and that is how my Archibald got his name. I'm desparate for anything here. --Celia

I did the ancestor report from family tree maker, I copied it into the word web wizard part of Microsoft word, then using Netscape [not AOL!!] I uploaded it to angelfire, then just added it, that part was easy, those pages are pure HTML and not a template, I think this could work for others, I actually did get it to work once on AOL but the picture that went with it never worked so I trashed that page. Thanks for the kind words Sandy in Fla

I tried to do this, but using the web page editor on angelfire, there is no place to put these links except in their links template, and I can't use that one for my photos - I did use word web wizard for the text pages b/c angelfire could not keep the spacing so those are pure html, the other pages are created with the templates and there is no place to put a link, at least I got them up!! That made me real excited b/c I tried and tried using aol and it crashed every time, then I bought Front Page BIG MISTAKE, so I was happy to find angelfire, thanks Sandy in Fla
