    1. [WVMONROE] Johnson Family, Monroe County
    2. Ronald Decker
    3. I am pleased to see that this site is still active, because of the query I just received. I seek information about the ancestors of William Johnson and his wife Elizabeth Mary "Polly" Davis. William Johnson was born in Monroe County about 1805 and his wife was born about the same time. After 1841 they moved to Braxton County, WV, where they died and are buried. Their five children, all born in Monroe County and later moved to Braxton County with their parents, were: Irvin Davis Johnson, born 27 January 1831 Delilah Jane Johnson, born 3 February 1833 Jane A. Johnson, born 1834 William Jackson "Henry" Johnson, born March 1837 Charles Robert Johnson, born 25 January 1841 This Johnson family is probably descended from early settlers of tidewater Virginia. 3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of E. W. HOYLMAN who was a teacher at the Fox Den School in Monroe Co. WV during the 1900-1901 school year. The photograph is on a Souvenir given to all his students at the school with their names printed on the inside of the card and his photograph on the front. I'm hoping to locate someone from this HOYLMAN Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
