There was a small two story building in Matewan that was used as a hospital at one time.and then later as a clinic. The physician at one time was a Dr. Roy. It was across the street from a church and a hardware store. It was on the main street in Matewan. I am not sure what the name of it was. There are still two hospitals in Williamson -- one is located up on the hill -- it is Williamson Memorial and the other is located on the Kentucky side in South Williamson (Pike Co.)-- it is Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
