    2. My Mary Ann May had a sister named Hannah according to various census reports. Mary was the wife of Artillis Madison "Matt" Varney wed in Roane County May 1875. Their son, Wes Varney (b.1880 in Clay County, WV d. 1935), was my grandfather. Wes married Lizzie Turner (b.1888 d.1965) whose parents were Nancy Elzada Cart/Kart and Letcher D. Turner . My mother, GoldieVarney (b. 1925 d.1994), was the baby of Wes and Lizzie's 9 children. Unfortunately, I have very little info about the May family. I believe Mary's parents were John R. and Frances May. liz

    2. Lizzy, My grandmother was Martha Anna Hannah from Mingo. She had a sister Mary Ann(I believe) Hannah who married Henry May. Henry's mother was Causby Dempsey.
