Merhaba Sherry, (That's hello in Turkish) My Great grandmother on the Meade side was a Davis. Uncle Joe and Aunt Hattie Davis lived up Old Field Branch when I was a kid. Although I was raised in Marshall Co., WV I spent every summer in Mingo until I was 12 years old and have visited many times since. My uncle Bob Meade lived at Winco Block then and now lives in Williamson. He was a basketball coach and principle at Chatteroy when it was still a High School and after when it was a Jr High. Prior to living at Winco Block Uncle Bob lived in the Old Homestead up Old Field Branch. It was the house that my father and all my aunts and uncles, (Meade), were raised in. The cemetary that you refer to was just down and to left of the house if you were standing on the front porch looking down the hallow. I think my Uncle Billie is burrried there. He died when he was a child. The house burned to the ground when I was 4 or 5 years old but Uncle Bob kept a shack up there as a get away. I believe my Uncle Luther of Cantan, Ohio still owns the property but I'm not sure. I would be very interrested in the index of the cemetary. The last time I saw it it was in pretty bad shape. As I said my Uncle Bob (James Robert Meade) still lives in Williamson. He has a letter that William Bingham Meade wrote to George Washingtom asking for payment for some horses that were commandeered during the revolution. I don't have his phone number with me right now but he is in the book and has alot of knowledge about our roots. Give him a call and tell him I said hi.
