    1. [WVMINGO] ROMANS & COPLEY & Crum, WV
    2. Dallas, Glad to hear from you. I still have several (ROMANS) relatives who live in Crum, WV on the Tug River. I haven't done a lot of family history research for a while because I have three kids that I homeschool, plus music lessons, sports, new dog, etc. Here in NE Ohio we've got 6 inches of snow, and it's still coming down! I guess I should throw another log on the fire and dig out my family tree! I've been on genealogy e-mail lists for a couple of years, and I seem to remember making a note of your name a long time ago as a possible connection to my WV folks. About how old would your Silvia BAISDEN Romans be? I've got a big list of ROMANS. I'll check for her. I have an aunt Myrtle ROMANS COPLEY who is from Crum, WV. She married Elmer COPLEY, and I would guess he's probably from Crum or nearby, since everyone in that family seemed to marry someone from down the road. Myrtle and Elmer COPLEY are probably in their 70s now and live in Virginia, I believe. Their daughter, Beaulah COPLEY BIAS (maybe another last name, as she was widowed and remarried and widowed again) lives in Cleveland, OH and I see her several times a year. If you have any COPLEY questions, let me know. Beaulah could probably answer them. I think one of her brothers is also into family research, and I'm sure I could get his address if you'd like to contact him. Also, you mentioned Martin Co, KY and Crum, WV. I know my grandmother and her family started out living on the family farmstead in Hode, Martin Co., KY, and later moved across the Tug River to Crum, WV. My mom has told me stories of being at "grandma's" (Wm and Ida ROMANS) in Crum, and Uncle Isom ROMANS (I think that's the right uncle) would row across the river and bring them milk. My uncle Ray Williamson (m to Lorena ROMANS) had a restaurant in Crum where he served hot dogs and chili dogs. Seems like the pictures I've seen had a picture of a bulldog and the sign said, "Eat Ray's famous hot dogs". This was probably about the same time your HENSLEY had a gas/food station in Crum--40s, 50s, maybe 60s. Does that ring a bell? Do you live near any of these places now? I am in NE Ohio, but go back to Crum and Huntington to visit sometimes. Sorry I've rambled, but got to do it when inspiration strikes...
