Also another resource is the WV Archive Library located in the Cultural Center within the Capital complex in Charleston, WV. It has listings per county but also for the entire state -- such as deaths, marriages, births and delayed birth certificates. It is open M-F 9a-5p, and Saturday from 1-5p. The employees who work there are very helpful. They have references such as books, journals, and a large amount of microfilm -- the Mingo microfilm does show lots of water damage from the repeat flooding but you could again check with the state listings for death certificates and it lists the name, county, death certificate number and a numerical listing for the cause of death.
