Hi.... I'm looking for information on the children ofArtillis Madison "Matt" Varney ( b. 1854 in Pike County, Ky.) and Mary "Polly" May Varney (m. 1875 in Roane County )....Matt was the son of Asa (who had a younger brother also named Madison who married Piety Staton) and Louisa "Vicy" Varney. I'm told that after their marriage they lived in Mingo County where some of their children were born. My grandfather, Wesley ( b. 1880 d.1935 m. Elizabeth Turner around 1908), was their son. I can trace the Varney line back many generations, but I can't locate the names and dates of birth of all the children of Matt and Mary. The names I have are: George, John, Wesley, William , Sam, Cora ( m. ?Givens), Cindy (m. ?Woods), Effie "Jody" ( m. Charlie Turner ) and Maud ( m. ?Hendshaw).
