Hi, I'm Vanessa (Stafford) Allen, and I just recently joined the Mingo list. I received a message about some former Mingo County friends/relatives who weathered out the storm (Hurricane Frances) in Florida. Helen Buchanan, widow of Harold, and their daughter Mary Ann live in Vero Beach, Florida, and they are okay. They lived in Gilbert, West Virginia for many, many years. Helen is in her 80's and lives in a wood-frame house that Harold built years ago, so she went to Mary Ann's cement block house a few days ago. A friend went by Mary Ann's house a while ago to report that Helen's house is okay. There's a tree down across the driveway, but it missed the house. I wanted to pass on the news, in case any of you may know them. Vanessa
