I am looking for any information anyone has on my father William Jennings Smith, I can't seem to find anything on him, he passed away at the age of 23. I know he was born to Virginia ( Evans ) Smith and William Patterson Smith in Hardy Ky. They lived at Stone, Ky. I know my grandmothers parents are Hester and Larry Evans. I know nothing about my grandfathers genealogy. I can't even find a social security number for my father. His birth date was July 20, 1932 and his death date was July 14, 1956. Alma, I put the name William J Smith in the SSDI(social security death index)and 508 names came up. Have you looked there to find his S.S number? http://ssdi.rootsweb.com/ This might be a start, but keep us informed so we might add help if we can find any.
