    3. My Maynard line is Jane Maynard who married Valentine Hatfield-- they are my 3 great grandparents. I have Jane b. February, 1835 and died 1906 in Mingo County. She was the daughter of David Maynard. I have a marriage date of August 29, 1853 for Valentine and Jane in Pike Co. KY. Valentine or "Wall" Hatfield was Devil Anse's older brother. Have you checked the archives for Maynard? There has been some discussions off and on over the years I think. David was from North Carolina originally. His father may have been a William Maynard. His wife may have been a Jane Atwood. I need to get around to doing more work on the Maynard line myself. Valentine and Jane Maynard Hatfield lived on Beech Creek...their daughter Nancy Hatfield married Harrison Steele.....They were the parents of Smith Eppison Steele who married Bettie Chafin. S. E. & Bettie were the parents of my Grandpa Harry Steele. Brother of Smith Steele was Dr. Lon Steele.
