I have been reading the posting that have been posted about the road conditions here in WV. I usually don't try to say to much but I would like to state my opinion. I moved back here to Mingo County about a year ago, I live at Varney and since I have been here I thought the same thing Robert thinks, it's a shame how things have changed to the worse since our childhood, but I also have witnessed the highways being cleaned from one end to the other in our community only to be trashed again within 2 weeks. Not only are they littered, the ditches are in terrible shape and heaven forbid if you run off the road in some areas, as well as the patches on some of the roads, you have to cross to the other lane in some areas because they are so rough, if you have the opportunity. So all of this can't be blamed on the people in the community, the state should take the blame for the conditions of the road. It's obivious to me we have more people who don't care than the few who do and the few who do can easily get discouraged. The jobs are scarce here and so many people are unemployed. Maybe that accounts for alot of the I don't care attitude so many have.
