    3. Hi Everett, Mine are my g-gram was a Fairchild from Johnson Co Ky.Maggie Fairchild back to William Fairchild andSusan Symmes in England. On my Mom's side. This one is so well researched. It was my 1st and was easy.Met relatives still in Johnson Co Ky.One had a photo of my g-g-g-grandparents Levi and Jane Horne. It was wonderful. Now if I just had some of the luck finding my Dad's folks it would be great. But I am enjoying the search and all the new friends and family I am meeting on the way. Happy hunting,Ann of WV PS: My Dad's mom Dixie Mounts,Carter had a son before she married Sam Carter, not sure if she was married to the father or not.The sons name was Claude or Cloyd Hatfield,he was born in 1900.My g-gram was Alafare Blankenship md Madison Mounts.Have a photo of Her and my Dad's sisters. One was killed before I was born,so that was really a treat to get that one. 3. Since things are slow I'll try positing my question again. Is Greenbrier in Mingo county? If so was there a grist mill there that was operated by Richard (Son) Lambert my grandfather? My father remembers him living and operating a grist mull on Greenbrier. My Father is going on 83 years of age so maybe he isn't remembering correctly. This would have been in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I I hope someone can help me ver my brick wall. Thank you for your time. _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! 2. There is a Greenbrier in Wayne Co. It's between Ft. Gay and Genoa. In the Census it Bulter District. I looked in the 1920 Wayne Co Census and I didn't find a Richard Lambert, But there are several Lambert Families. Causby

    3. According to the U.S. Geological Survey GNIS site, there's a stream called Greenbrier FORK that's in McDowell County, just a few miles from the Mingo County line, at the town of Panther. Do you suppose that may have been the Greenbrier your dad remembers? The GNIS site is at URL: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form. It will show you all the places called Greenbrier in West Virginia. I've discovered, though, that occasionally I can't find a place I'm looking for. Maybe because some of the names have changed. My ggrandfather, Artillis Madison "Matt" Varney, married Mary "Polly" May who was the daughter of John R. and Frances May in Roane County WV in1875. My maternal grandfather was Matt and Polly's son, Wesley B. Varney (b. 1880 d. 1935). My records show that Polly May was born in Calhoun County, Va. (before WV became a state) in 1857. I believe John was born in Pocahontas County in 1830.
