For those of you who have not been there go now. You will not be disappointed. Marilee and Bruce have done a fantastic job on this and associated family lines. Even if she did leave out my poor Angeline Collins. Of course if I ever get the rest of my research compiled and sent to her like she asked then I would be there. Hoping someone can help me with info on MILLARD BRUMFIELD b. abt.1908. I have copy of a birth certificate filed 11/21/1934 Mingo County, City of Naugatuck for birth of HARRY EUGENE BRUMFIELD b. 11/25/1933 (certificate filed almost a year past birth?). Millard's occupation is listed as Laborer, residence Naugatuck, age 26, but no info on parents. Mother is listed as BLANCHE FLETCHER, age 21 (abt. 1913), occupation Housewife, residence Naugatuck. It is signed only by mother with Blanche Brumfield as signature. QUESTION:: In line 20 - "How many children born to this mother up to and including this child?" is a scribble and appears to be a 2 changed to 3. HARRY ended up in foster care at about age 1 - any info on these parents or siblings greatly appreciated.

Hi all, A suggestion was made on the ekentucky list that they would like to see a place where we could all put our stories from the past. It really sounded like a great idea so I have set up a web site to do exactly that. As of right now the page has absolutely no information on it. It will take all of you and your stories to make this site come alive. The purpose of this page is to talk about the way things used to be, and for people to learn from the way things were done back then. Pictures always make it more real so this web site has unlimited web space. No picture will be too big. No file too large. Ive named the web address "theouthouse" because that is my favorite old thingy :) As this website grows I will be dividing it into sections depending on the subject. Example: Houses, Bathrooms, Medicine, Animals, Kitchen, etc..... The list will go as large as it needs to cover all of the stories. ANY and ALL suggestions on this page are greatly accepted. Do you have a photo of an old "thingy" :) that you would like to share? Please feel free to send it to me and I will have it added to the page. http://www.anzwers.net/free/theouthouse/ Sherry P.S. Feel free to forward this to any other email lists that you think might be interested
Hi All, I am sending this to several lists that might be interested in this project. Or to anyone just to let you know this is online now. I have been coordinating several Census projects to get them put online for all to view. Right now the area I am working on getting online is Martin Co. Kentucky. For those of you who do not know what this is Im talking about let me explain. There is a company called S&K Publications. They will, for a price order from the national archives the census film of the original hand written census. Then they scan these pages into images and put them on a CD for purchase. This company will not scan a county with out a minimum amount of money that is needed to hire them to do this (price depends on how large the county was). For Martin County Kentucky this is the table of cost: 1880=4 Contributors at $20 each 1900=6 Contributors at $20 each 1910=8 Contributors at $20 each 1920=8 Contributors at $20 each We as a group have gotten the 1880 Census online for all of you to view. You can view it at this address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/martin/census/1880/0000read.htm The images online are great but much smaller than the images on the CD. The ones on the CD allow you to zoom in much closer before distorting. Sometimes you can even see into those really dark area's that we all hate when we look at them through a reader. We have sent for the 1900 Martin Co. Census and expect that to be online in the next few months. We still need a few people to help us with 1910 and 1920. If you are interested please email me and I will invite you to join our Martin Co Census CD mail list. Donna Lloyd please contact me, I have lost touch with you. Your CD is ready. Please contact me by email if anyone has any questions. [email protected] Sherry
