Hi, I'm looking for information on Rhoda Kirk, b. about 1826. She married Samuel Brewer, son of Unknown Brewer and Sally Roark. Can anyone shed some light on who Rhoda's parents were. Thanks, Barbara
Hi Brenda, That was a typo (Hurbert). His name was Hubert and I think he was my grandfathers brother. They lived on Harts creek and I asked my mother about it. She mentioned 12 children. Names she remembered were Wilson, Jean and Eleanor. I know this is not your "Family" now but can you put me in touch with someone who is? Thanks Kim Tuchek [email protected]
Hunting4kin: No, I don't know if my Hubert (not hurbert) is a twin or not nor do I have birth/death dates yet but I will try to find out. Maybe Ken's 2nd wife will tell me. :) I can tell you Hubert and Mary had 10 children: Marie, Sidney, Wilson, James, Lloyd, Doug, Fay, Jean, Ken and Rita. I met Ken in about 1963-64 and his father and his brother Wilson were both already dead. I'll post my answer when I get it. If I find a promising answer, I'll email privately. A great source for newspapers all over the country is through naa.org - however, it's my understanding that we cannot post URLs on this site so, simply type naa. org in search & then go to Hotlinks which will give you an index & map of the country to find the newpsaper closest to the city you're looking for. The site is frequently unavailable but don'y give up hope. I keep the site bookmarked. wboatr wrote: > A friend's mother-in-law passed away today and she lived in Logan and wonder if anyone should read the obit if you would pass it on to me. She is the wife of the late James Litton. Mrs. Litton was born in Martin County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Muncey. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Clara Risk of Merrimac. and two sons, Dan Litton of Ball Grant, GA and James Litton of Merrimac. Funeral Services were conducted at the home at 2:30 PM with Hence Allen and Cleve Russell officiating. Burial followed at the Phillips Cemetery in Merrimac.
