Hi. I'm originally from the Piedmont area. I have not been very active on this list since I signed up for it though. You could probably call the Herald office and get the back issues from them. The person that was in charge of it is Marg and Bill Hood. If I can be of any assistance with anything in the Piedmont area let me know. I know live in the Martinsburg, WV area but still have strong family ties to the Piedmont area. Sincerely, Sarah Kithcart
Hi Sorry I was slow ansering. I still have splint on hand following hand surgeries. My typing is often leaving lot to be desired. The WV State Archives has most WV newspapers on microfilm back about as far as that one went. If they don't have an issue, they are delighted to receive it. http://www.wvculture.org/history/wvsamenu.html The archives and history division is where microfilm newspapers are located. This is what it shows for the Herald: Piedmont Herald Piedmont January 11, 1890-December 1983; January 3, 1987-December 26, 1989 The historic preservation and/or archives and history may be interested in your works. You mention he was born in Lewis county - therefore your records may be of interest to someone in that area who may have been a cousin or something. Barb
