    3. so, is this list completely dead? -----Original Message----- From: John Stanley Sent: Friday, June 10, 2005 7:38 AM To: WVMINERA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WVMINERA] Introduction Hi, My family came to Mineral County in the late 1870's or early 1880's via my gg grandfather John Maxwell Stanley. He lived in Piedmont on Jones Street until his death in 1911. Before that he lived in Auburn, Ritchie County, and was born in Jane Lew, Lewis County in 1853. He was an editor of the Piedmont Herald until 1908, and town recorder a few times. His children attended Davis Free School and Piedmont High school. His children were: Forest Wildwood Stanley (1874 - 1963) by wife Margaret Rosana Stasel (1858 - 1878) Clio Okey Stanley (1876 - 1908) by wife Margaret Rosana Stasel (1858 - 1878) Hattie Iona Stanley Wheeler (1880 - 1967) by wife Rosa Lee Watkins (1858 -) Alma Rosamond Stanley (1889- ) by wife Rosa Lee Watkins (1858 -) Robert Drane Stanley Sr (11893 - 1980) by wife Rosa Lee Watkins (1858 -) my g grandfather I had an aunt that lived on the same street until her death in 1967. Her name was Hattie Iona Stanley Wheeler. She was married to Arthur Wheeler. I'm sure there are still family members living there that I am not aware of an am looking for information on them. I am also looking for any copies of the Piedmont Herald from when JM Stanley was editor, or documents or images with any of the Stanley's on them (or their various in-laws) I have a lot of pictures and some pretty interesting documents from these people to share with those connected, or those just interested. They have all been scanned in the computer so can be easily emailed. Thanks for your time, John Stanley Waterford, Mi ==== WVMINERA Mailing List ==== WHEN YOU POST, PUT ALL THE INFO YOU HAVE. 3. Nope not completely. I guess no one has any Stanley's for you. I found in my search that I had more luck with the maiden names in my family tree when I went searching. Maybe you should try posting John Stanley's wife. You might find a connection. Lonny J. 3. BTW, there is a Geneology Society in Keyser and a Historical Society in Keyser. I think Patti McDonald is working with one or both. She should be able to tell you where to send your documents. Even if you can't find anyone who wants the information now, someone might come looking for it in the future. You might want to snail mail it to the Geneology Society and the Historical Society for future generations who come searching for their Stanley's later in time. 3. Sorry, I'm typing with one hand (wrist fracture) and that last email got out when I hit a button. For Clarification.. Lonnie Stated I am involved with the Mineral County Historical & Genealogical Societies. I am not associated with either one. Patti ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lonny J.
