Hello all, I had given up my research on my Father's Family, but have decided to give it another shot because you all seem to have a wealth of information, and maybe you'll be able to help me. My G-Grandfather's name was George Hamilton, born in 1871 at Cabin Run, Mineral Co., WV. He married Emma Shrout (sp?), what yr I don't know. But they stayed in the Cabin Run area, and had their Children there. One of the Children was adopted, he was Herbert Hamilton, he is my Grandfather, he died in 1950 or 1952 in Frewsburg, NY. The problem I am running into, is finding out where Herbert came from. I was told the papers were in Piedmont, WV., but then was told to call the Mineral Co courthouse. I spoke with the Judge's secretary, she did some research and could not find anything. The Family Herbert came from was McLaughlin or MacLaughlin, I believe that is how it is spelled.
