    3. When researching these early records, are most kept in Richmond, or West Virginia? Also, are there good baptism and other church records for Hampshire/Mineral county. My other line is from Shenandoah Co, and church records there have been my best source. It should have been 1859. "Alice" from the Nellie Harvey story was Virginia A. age 1 in 1860 and "Alice V." age 11 in 1870. She married Neri Clark sometime after June 22, 1880, when she and her older sister Mary F. were counted as "nieces" (should have been granddaughters) in their grandfather Rev. William Junkins household. From Earlene Babcock's work on the Junkins- "A newspaper article that contains some interesting information on the Junkins family" (an interview with a gentleman by the name of Taylor Arnold) "The little girl you spoke of as named Alice; I think the name was Welsh instead of Evans. Her mother was a daughter of Uncle Billy Junkins and she lived with him quite a bit. She is the wife of N. Clark and is living yet. If I have made any mistakes I hope somebody will correct me." Earlene then asks the question- "(Could this little girl, Alice Welch, be the daughter of the Mrs. Welch that lived with Benjamin Junkins during the Civil war as written by his granddaughter Nellie? Benjamin and John W., the father of William M. Junkins, were brothers.)" -Earlene Babcock Indeed, it appears certain she was. -SJB 02/2004 ...........
