Noland, 84 JUNE 11, 1920-FEB. 11, 2005 HAGERSTOWN - Ellen Alrose (Shore) Noland, 84, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Washington County Hospital. Born June 11, 1920, in Kitzmiller, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Georgia (Junkins) Shore. Ellen's love of classical music on the piano will be missed by family and friends. She was a past member of the Sweet Adelines and sang in the choir at John Wesley Methodist Church. For many years, she maintained certification as a licensed beautician. Ellen was noted in the family as an excellent cook and candy maker. She was the devoted mother of Sylvia Susan Resh of Hagerstown and Christine Celeste Wise of Richmond, Va. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Jonathan Pool Wise of Richmond, Kristen Paige (Resh) Schupp of Smithsburg and Peter David Resh of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and her beloved great-grandchildren, David Owen Schupp and William Maxey Schupp. She also is survived by one brother, John Shore of Media, Pa.; and four sisters, Christine Hull, Ruth Paris and Patricia Stinson, all of Hagerstown, and Sylvia Maisack of Newburn, N.C. She was the loving wife of the late William Wilson Pool and the late Robert Noland. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Shore. Funeral services will be conducted at Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Perry officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends will be received at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the music program at Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
