    3. Susan, I believe that we have corresponded before about the Wag(g)oners. The earliest that I have found was John M. Waggoner who was born abt. 1752. His will, found in the Hampshire Co. Courthouse, was filed in 1837. It does not list a Christopher. I have read some history that shows a Thomas Waggoner in Hampshire/Mineral Co. WV in the mid 1700's during the French and Indian War. He built a fort in 1756 (Fort Buttermilk or Fort Waggoner) in Hardy Co., WV near Moorefield. I have been told, but have not documented, that he was the father of John M.Waggoner and Catherine Waggoner who lived and died in Hampshire/Mineral Co. John Waggoner is the only Waggoner listed in the 1782 Enumeration. The GNIS Map Server shows a village or community of Wagoner located on the Potomac River in the northwestern corner of what is now Mineral County. It looks like it is about halfway between Patterson Creek (which is across the river from Spring Gap) and Green Spring (across the river from Oldtown.) All of this probably doesn't help much but it seems likely that these families were connected. If I stumble onto anything about a Christopher I will let you know.
