In our home town -- Warrensburg, Johnson Co MO, on the courthouse (county seat) is a small monument to military and ground is covered with bricks with service men's names, rank etc on it. It was not free but we felt very good about being able to add names from both our families from that area. A nice certificate came to us by mail after the bricks were added. Also on the Johnson County MO site of MOGenWeb, is a special page for military men-- of the past and the present, both living and deceased.
