Patti, I did find something very interesting in your latest posting. One memoriam posting states that the deceased "Mrs Wagley was born at Kitzmiller, now Blaine WV, March 1, 1860." The big question is, when was the name changed from Kitzmiller to Blaine? A cousin and I have been trying to locate the graves of my g-aunt and two of her children who were reportedly buried in Kitzmiller. We just assumed that meant Kitzmiller, Md., across the river, even though my g-aunt's family lived in Potomac Manor. My g-aunt's grandson reported visiting the graves with his mother many, many years ago and swore it was in "Kitzmiller." From the way he described the area, it was a rural cemetery--indeed, he reported being chased by a bull at the time. I tried looking at the Blaine section of "Mineral Co. Communities" on the Mineral Co. page for a clue, but all it had was "NDA 1933. It was named for James G. Blaine...." What is "NDA"? Is this the year the town became Blaine? The newspaper article is dated 1911, so I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
