Hi, I so appreciate all the information available on this site. I have been researching the above family for months and just got back my g-grandfathers death certificate which lists his parents as "don't know". He was born Sept. 8, 1842 and died in Antioch, Grant Co. on Jan. 7, 1924. He was married to Mary Susan McDonald and had children William, Estey, Wilbert T., Madora (my grandmother), Burl, and Vernon. The death certificate lists the person who gave the information as W. T Welch, which I assume is Wilbert T. I am trying to find out if the John Welch who is age 9 in the 1850 census, child of Charity and Thomas Welch, is the same as my John Welch. I realize that there is a year difference, but mistakes can be made. I do have the undertaker as David Rotruck of Martine? W. Va.. I am pretty sure this is the correct family because Israel Welch who lives now with his sister in Burlington, is a third cousin, so I assume his grandfather, James and my John were brothers.
