This is true, and the USGenWeb Guidelines on transcribing the Census, tells transcribers to type the Census exactly as is. (Even though it is obvious that there is a mistake). It is suggested to note the possible Census taker's error. I've already transcribed one and am working on another, and will be the first to tell you I doubt any of these Census Taker's were college material. (You all may remember my trouble with the census a few months ago). Some of them seem to be new to this country also, as names and states are misspelled.
