Searching for the ancestors of John H. PAUGH b. c. 1860, place unknown, d. unknown, m. 25 Oct 1890, Elk Garden, WV, Alice B. RHODES b. c. 1869, place unknown d. unknown. It is possible that John H. PAUGH is a descendant of Michael PAUGH who settled in Garrett Co., MD (which was still Allegany Co. at that time), after the Rev. War. This Michael Paugh was born c. 1749 and served in the VA 12th Infrantry during the Revolution. He enlisted at Romney, VA, but it is not known if he resided in Hampshire County at that time.
