I e-mailed you great people 6 mos ago or so...but I've hit a brick wall so would like to ask the following: Information on John A. Welch of Antioch, born 1842 and died 1924, have death certificate in Grant County. Married Mary Susan McDonald,born 1844 and died 1908, burried in Davis Cemetary in Antioch. Family history says her father was Benjamin or Bennie McDonald of Maysville, and that she was born in Ireland and came over when she was age two. I believe that history is wrong, and since the census infor says she was born in Virginia, I have to guess that it was HER mother that was actually born in Ireland. I know there are McDonalds in Maysville, and I also have information that there was an Old Benjamin McDonald who married Margaret Hiett, but it does not list a child Mary Susan McDonald. The children of Mary Susan McDonald and John A. Welch were, William C. born 1867,Vernon born 1869, Estella Welch born 1871 (married Rodtruck),Wilbert T. Welch born 1874, Madora Lee born 1877 (my grandmother) Modenna born 1878 (I believe she did not survrive childhood), Burl born 1881 and Edward who married Maggie Cannon.My mothers mother Madora died in childbirth when my mom was just 2 years old, so all my mom can remember is that John A. Welch, of Antioch, her grandfather had a long white beard. There is some mention of him in the Mineral County Newspapers, but the entire family seems not to exist anymore. Any help would be appreciated. I do have names of children of the above sisters and brothers of Madora. My mom is 84 and has written her life story, growing up on Middle Ridge and also Berkeley Springs. Some names mentioned are George Biser, my grandfather, Nicholas Biser, Will Biser, Mayme Biser who married Bill Whiteman, for anyone with an interest in that family.
