    3. I am wondering if there is anyone on the mailing list who remembers Ninnie (Tucker) Culp.... or perhaps some elderly person in Mineral County who may remember her. This is what I know about her. NINNIE EFFIE (TUCKER) CULP, daughter of Charles and Susan (Shell) Tucker mar. (1) Alexander Pownall; (2) Baker Ward; and (3) Dennis Culp Their children (first marriage): E.132 (Alfred), E.133 (Susan), E.134 (Anna), E.135 (John), E.136 (Richard). Their children (second marriage): E.137 (Ida), E.138 (Ada). Ada married Neff Wimer and lived at Keyser the last I knew. I do not know if she is still living. No children from third marriage. Ninnie Effie Tucker, daughter of Charles and Susan (Shell) Tucker, was born 8 August 1880, Greenland, Grant County, West Virginia (per Ada Wimer, daughter). Her name is spelled "Ninie" on the Grant County birth record, but the family pronounced it as "Ninnie." She died 1 November 1961, Short Gap, Mineral County, West Virginia (per Ada Wimer). She was buried at Queen's Point Cemetery, Keyser, Mineral County. She married (1) Alexander Bowles Pownall, son of Alfred Haney and Charlotte Temple (Hannas) Pownall, 14 April 1900, Cumberland, Maryland. Alexander was born 16 November 1873, Romney, Hampshire County, West Virginia, and died 14 February 1914. She married (2) Baker Halloday Ward, 24 December 1915, Luke, Maryland. Baker was born 18 May 1855 (per letter from Ninnie Culp to Pearl Tucker Lanham) or 21 May 1855 (per letter from Ada Wimer to Gary Tucker), at Cumberland, Maryland. He died 23 August 1920 (per Ada Wimer). She married (3) Dennis Culp, 15 September 1925. He died 7 February 1945. Names and dates included in this account are from Ninnie's letter to Pearl Tucker Lanham (except for those indicated as from Ada Wimer). Ninnie was a poet and had at least one book of poems published. An unattributed newspaper clipping obituary says Ninnie Culp lived at Short Gap for 46 years. I am trying to track down a copy of the book of poems that she published. I don't necessarily need to own a copy but want to at least see it and perhaps photocopy some pages. I don't know if anyone at Keyser (library or bookstore) would know anything about it or not. Are there any used book stores at Keyser that might know about her work? It has always intrigued me that she came from an unlettered family background but became a published poet. As a female living in that time period, it seems a rather remarkable accomplishment to me. I would like to know more about Ninnie (Tucker) Culp. Thank you, Gary Tucker
